Professor Stefano Negrini

Stefano Negrini, MD PhD, is a Full Professor in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) at the University of Milan “La Statale” (Italy), an Honorary Professor at the University of Jordan of Amman (Jordan) and an Associate Graduate Faculty at Ontario Tech University, Ottawa (Canada).

He founded and directed the Field Cochrane Rehabilitation that is now the Thematic Group Cochrane Rehabilitation, Functioning and Disability.

He is the Director of the Evidence-Based Rehabilitation Laboratory at the Research Hospital Galeazzi Sant’Ambrogio, Milan, and the Scientific Director of ISICO (Italian Scientific Spine Institute).

He was a promoter and is the founding President of the European Organization of University PRM (UniPRM).

He is a member of the European Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine, an expert of the European Union Medical Specialists-PRM Section, and a member of the Advisory Board of the International Society On Scoliosis Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT).

He was Chief-Editor of the “European Journal of PRM” from 2004 to 2020.

He was a founder and President of SOSORT and has been active in multiple positions within the International and European Societies of PRM (ISPRM and ESPRM).

He presided over multiple National and International Meetings and Master courses.

He won 22 Awards, including the ISPRM Distinguished Researcher Senior in 2023, the Association of Academic Physiatrists (APP) Joel DeLisa Lecture in 2018, and the John H Moe Award of the Scoliosis Research Society in 2018.

He published >500 PubMed papers, >100 book chapters, and gave >100 Invited Lectures. He has a Scopus H-Index of 57 and is in the top 2% scientists globally (19,985th in total, and 22nd in rehabilitation) (Stanford University ranking), with the best expertise on the topics of Braces (2nd), Scoliosis (13th), Rehabilitation (15th) and Rehabilitation Medicine (16th) (Expertscape ranking).
