Professor Carl-Éric Aubin

Carl-Éric Aubin is a Full Professor of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, a researcher and Special Advisor for Innovation at the Sainte‑Justine University Hospital Center, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at Université de Montréal. He holds the Polytechnique Montréal Research Chair in Orthopaedic Engineering. He founded and is the Executive and Scientific Director of the TransMedTech Institute, created to accelerate the development of innovative medical technologies and train future leaders in the field.

Professor Aubin is a leading expert in the biomechanics of spinal deformities and their treatment. He has published more than 340 peer‑reviewed articles and book chapters, is co‑inventor on nine patents, and has supervised over 130 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and of the Scoliosis Research Society, and Chair of the SRS 3D Classification Committee. His distinctions include Officer of the Order of Canada, Officer of the Ordre national du Québec, Knight of the Ordre de Montréal, and an honorary doctorate from Aix‑Marseille University.
